Karlton Lynn Neil

Karlton L. Neil, age 78, passed away on January 12 ^th 2022. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy June Neil, stepdaughter, Jody Ann Grabill, and his parents, H. Vern and Lorraine Neil.

Surviving are his children; Robert (Tracy) Neil, Brenda (Shannon) Schild, Bill (Greta) Schild, Ken (Nichole) Schild, and Carla N.; siblings, Kay Howell, Karen (Cliff) Bustance, and Ken (Connie) Neil; his grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Karlton was a graduate of the Hastings High School class of 1963.

Karlton was admired for his zest for life and love for people. He made friends wherever he went. Not only was he a mentor, but he also taught his children how hunt and fish. As he loved the outdoors, his occupational years always consisted of either driving gravel trains or operating large equipment.

In his retirement years, he and his wife Dorothy settled on a piece of property for many years on Twin Creek outside of Luther, spent hours riding the state trails with their golf cart, and created lifetime memories with family and friends. They later joined their children and resided in Delton. His days were well filled with his grandchildren who either sought advice or assisted him, and his cat Patch, who could always be found on his lap. He was a member of the Delton Moose Lodge, loved working on cars, and traveling county back roads for scenic adventures.

Gift of life benefited from Karlton's big heart and compassion for people.
