Kathy Lee Buikema, age 55 of Hastings, passed away December 31, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Rapids.
Kathy was born December 17, 1962 in Hastings, Michigan, the daughter of Roger and Joyce (Milerans) Reid. She received her GED in 1992 from Hastings High School. Kathy married Brian Buikema on August 7, 1998 and they were married for 19 years.
Kathy worked in the Housekeeping field, most recently at Hastings Laundromat until health would no longer allow it. She loved being with her family and friends, especially the grandkids.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Joyce Reid.
She is survived by her husband, Brian Buikema, son, Daniel (Collette) Horn of Hastings, daughter, Tracy Horn of Hastings, four grandchildren, brother, Tim Reid and several very close friends.
Respecting Kathy's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, yet to be determined.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hastings Animal Shelter or Fresenius Kidney Care Hastings Dialysis Center.
