Kathy Ann (Beach) Johnson, age 71, of Hastings. Passed away on April 22, 2026, at Butterworth Hospital after a short illness.
Kathy was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 21, 1955, the daughter of Bill and Nancy (Crispin) Beach. Kathy grew up surrounded by her animals, dogs, horses, and especially her CATS. Kathy was very athletic, a trampoline enthusiast, roller-skater, softball player and a water lover. In 1975, she was an outstanding player on a women's softball team where she was coached by her future husband, Bob. Bob fell hopelessly in love with that ball player; unfortunately, she didn't feel the same. In the fall of 1977, Kathy prayed for a mate. Out of the blue, Bob called. Love blossomed. They were married in December of 1978. They lived in Oakland County until Bob's career brought them to Hastings. In 1988, they moved into their forever home on Algonquin Lake. Kathy was a "fish," loving any activity that included water, hosting family reunions (4th of July). She was employed in the Accounts Receivable Department at McCormick Enterprises in Delton. In 1998, her nephew David came to stay. In 2003, Isaac arrived to complete the family. In the following years, Kathy enjoyed swimming, tubing, pontoon rides, helping in the garden, winter vacations in Cancun, and just being with Bob.
Kathy is survived by Bob, her husband of 48 years, mother Nancy, sister Amy, son David (Trisha), grandson Isaac, and a host of nieces and nephews. She is now in Heaven awaiting Bob's arrival. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
