Katrina Marie Tate

March 21, 1956 — April 20, 2024

Katrina Marie Tate passed away on April 20, 2024. Katrina was born on March 21, 1956, in Battle Creek, Michigan to Franklin Dean and Agnes Elizabeth (Houver) Busha, who preceded her in death.

She was a 1974 graduate of Delton Kellogg High School.  She worked at Proline, Binder Park Zoo, and as a Certified Nurses Aide at the Laurels of Bedford, retiring after a fulfilling career at Gun Lake Casino.

Katrina was fun and spunky. She enjoyed flower gardening, trips to the zoo, and let's not forget her hair appointments – they were less about maintenance and more about reinvention, a testament to her belief that life was too short for boring hair.

She enjoyed the sun and spending time at the lake. Above all, Katrina's heart belonged to her family. The time she spent with her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids was precious, filled with lessons of love, the importance of a good joke, and the art of living each day to the fullest.

She is survived by her husband of 14 years, Robert Tate and her children Shawn (Amber) Elsey, Kandy Elsey, and Jenny (Jeff) Snyder. Her legacy continues with her grandchildren Michael (Morgan) Edwards, Troy (Amber) Edwards, Jasmin Swain, Brendon Leonard, Taylor Leonard, Tionna Adams; and great-grandchildren Bentlee, Javon, Rowan, Memphis, Phoenix, Brailynn, Alekzander, Asher, Weston, Caisen, and the soon-to-arrive Zoey, and special grandson Brandon Sweat. Katrina's heart was so immense that she even had room to "adopt" numerous kids and grandkids, all of whom were captivated by her boundless energy and love.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will take place on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Mike Edwards Home, 8558 Gurd Road; Delton, MI 49046.  Arrangements by Girrbach Funeral Home. To leave an online condolence visit www.girrbachfuneralhome.net.
