Kenneth Edward Beckwith, age 86 of Hastings, passed away Sunday January 25, 2009 at his residence. \r
Kenneth was born October 8, 1922 in Hastings, Michigan, the son of Floyd (Mike) & Edith (Daniels) Beckwith.\r
He served in the United States Army from 1942 until 1946 During World War II. He was first employed in Hastings at Home Lumber Company, and then was employed at Hastings Manufacturing Co. for 37 years and retired in 1980.\r
He was married February 28, 1945 to Elnora E. Cole.\r
Kenneth enjoyed hunting , fishing and woodworking. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Hastings and the American Legion.\r
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard, and his son Wayne.\r
Kenneth is survived by his wife of almost 64 years, Elnora E. Beckwith, his 2 daughters, Jane (Robert) Power of Hastings, Diana (Richard) Meade of Hastings, 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter, a sister Elaine (Robert) Brooks of Grand Rapids, brother Jerry (Fran) Beckwith of Hastings, several nieces and nephews.\r
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6-8pm at the Girrbach Funeral Home in Hastings. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday January 31, 2009 at 11:00am at the Hastings Grace Lutheran Church, Pastor Michael Kemper officiating. Memorials can be made to Barry Community Hospice.\r
