Kenneth L. Semler of Hasting passed away suddenly on October 2, 2011. He was born on June 2, 1959, in Akron, Ohio, the son of Theodore and Carole (Shears) of Stow, Ohio. He entered the Army in 1976; he served in the Army for 3 years. He worked in a variety of jobs until he joined the Navy in 1979. He retired from the Navy after serving 20 years. He then worked for Flexfab and Bradford White before becoming employed by the Defense Logistics Agency in Battle Creek as a supply specialist.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents and younger sister, Denise Semler all from Ohio.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Cheryl (Smith) Semler, his son Wesley Allan Semler and his fiancée' Lavonne Ogg of Delton. daughter, Kaitlyn (Khalen) Laubaugh of Jacksonville, Arkansas, and his grandson Brayden Burr Laubaugh.
Graveside services will be held Friday October 7, 2011 at Fort Custer National Cemetery, with full military honors. Memorial services will be held at Solid Rock Bible Church in Delton. Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 1:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
