Laura J. Lykins, age 86, of Thornapple Lake, Nashville, Michigan, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014.
Laura was born June 6, 1927 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to George and Lucy (Klingenberg) Salton. After graduating from Hastings High School in 1945, she began a long career at Hastings Manufacturing Company, landing the position of Assistant Corporate Secretary through it's "Golden Era."
Laura cherished time spent in her perennial/vegetable garden, sharing the fruits of her labor with friends and family.
She was a long time member of Peace United Methodist Church, enjoying her years of service. Laura and Charles recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on May 19, 2014.
Preceding Laura in death were her parents and sister, Mary Powell.
Surviving are her husband Charles; her sister and brother-in-law, Ada (Leo) Reardon; her brother-in-law, Sherman Lykins; brother-in-law, Ed (Dona) Powell; daughters, Jeanine (Doug) Keast, Charlene (Leo) Hamp, Christine Greenfield; son and daughter-in-law, Dan (Jill) Lykins; grandchildren: Timothy (Katie), Alexandra (Jon), Grant, Noah, great-grandchildren: Kyia, Gaige, Emeri; several nephews and great nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Carveth Village for their loving care.

Visitation will be held, Monday, June 2, 2014 at Girrbach Funeral Home from 11:00 am until the time of the Memorial service at 12:00 pm.
The family invites friends and family to join them at a luncheon, following the service at Welcome Corners United Methodist Church, 3185 N. M-43 Highway, Hastings.
