Lawrence Edwin Tobias

Lawrence (Toby) Edwin Tobias, age 70, of Hastings, Michigan, passed away on June 17, 2022.

Toby was born on February 5, 1952, the son of Gaylord and Betty Tobias.  He attended the old Tanner School.  Toby was an amazing carpenter, working as a contractor.  He was a Jack of all trades, Master of none, but being a Jack was better than being a Master of just one.

Toby enjoyed cruises with his dog, stopping to see friends and family, riding his motorcycle, gardening, hunting, and "Predator Parties". :)  He loved making people laugh.  He enjoyed the little things that most people wouldn't think to appreciate.

Toby was preceded in death by his father Gaylord Ross Tobias, son Toby Tobias, mother Betty Alice (Williams) Tobias, sister Vannessa Jhonson, and daughter Gayline (Tobias) Wheeler.

He is survived by his children Timothy Ross Tobias, Michael Lee Hewitt, Angela Marie Cross Tobias, Patricia Alice Tobias, grandchildren Jeremy Nestell, Charles Everett Nestell, Nicole Mane Guzaiczak, Evan James, Blake Tobias Cross, Hope Pamela Cross, Taylor Cross, Shay'lynn Destiny Moore, Aniah Tobias, Orion Tobias, Xzavier Tobias, DJ Bourdo (Tobias), great-granddaughter Everlee Rose and many more.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at 2:00 PM, at Rutland Township Cemetery, 4600 Upton Road; Hastings, Michigan, Jack Woodmansee officiating.  A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at a later date for family and friends.  Details will be posted.  Arrangements by Girrbach Funeral Home, to leave an online condolence visit www.girrbachfuneralhome.net .
