Leola Griffith

Leola Griffith, age 93 of Hastings and formerly of Columbiana, Ohio passed away Monday, November 28, 2011 at Thornapple Manor in Hastings.

She was born February 5, 1918 in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Gustav A. and Selma (Anderson) Carlson. Leola attended and graduated from Crestview High School in Columbiana, Ohio. She married Dwight M. Griffith on April 24, 1942.

Leola enjoyed playing cards, gardening, shopping for bargains, shopping for others, bird watching and spending time with her family. She was a lifelong member of the Grace United Church of Christ in Columbiana, Ohio and a member of the Eastern Star.

Leola was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight in March of 1976, son, Brian G. Griffith in 1970, three sisters and one brother.

She is survived by her son, Ronald (Kay) Griffith, grandchildren: Eric (Heather) Griffith, Brian Griffith, Jaimie (Kevin) Hoeksema, Josh Wolter and Ben Wolter; great-grandchildren: Ethan and Alyse, sister, Doris Carlson of Port Orange, FL and niece, Charlotte.
