Lillian B. Taffee

Lillian B. Taffee age 96 of Hastings, Michigan passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Thornapple Manor in Hastings. She was born May 10, 1915 in Freeport, Michigan the daughter of Harry "Zip" and Mary (Brooks) Thompson. Lillian graduated from Hastings High School in 1933. She briefly worked at J.C. Penney in Hastings before becoming a full time housewife. Lillian volunteered for years in the Pennock Hospital Gift Shop. On April 18, 1936 she married Donald P. Taffee. Lillian was an avid gardener and knitter. She was also a member of the St. Rose of Lima Church. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Don (1974), two children: Patrick R. and John M. Taffee (2002) and brother, Harry "Bud" Thompson Jr. (2002). She is survived by her son, Stephen (Gloria) Taffee of Menlo Park, CA, grandchildren: Bryan (Jenny) Taffee of Portage, MI, Katie Dopke of Oakland Township, MI and Sarah Taffee (Tom Mutak) of Boston, MA, three great-grandchildren, sister: Agnes Hollister of Hastings, and three nieces and nephews.
