Louis Dell'Eva, age 92 of Hastings, died September 13, 2016.
Louis was born in Tabiadon di Val, Italy on August 14, 1924, the son of Felice and Amalia (Ganz) Dell'Eva. He moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1937. Louis graduated from St. Joseph High School, Detroit in 1941. He honorably served in the US Army from 1943 to 1945. Louis married Felicia Singer on October 13, 1951. Louis and Felicia made Hastings their home for 35 years.
Louis worked for R. Hirt J. Co. for 42 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Church in Hastings. Louis enjoyed the outdoors, loved trains and animals.
Survived by his children, Anthony (Pamela) Dell'Eva, Mark (Dawn) Dell'Eva, Louise (Gary) Knapp, Matthew Dell'Eva, grandchildren, Jason (Lauren) Dell'Eva-Knapp, Laura (Stevan) Nastoski, Jessica Dell'Eva, Zachary Dell'Eva, step-grandchildren, Gerilyn (Paul) Trombley, Ryan (Rosy) Knapp, Tara Knapp, great grandchildren, Fiona, Vincent and step-great grandchildren, Julian, Zoe, Lily.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Felice and Amalia Dell'Eva, wife, Felicia, brother, Felix (Al) Dell'Eva, sister, Sylvia Sammons and step-mother, Josephine Dell'Eva.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rose of Lima Church, 805 S. Jefferson St., Hastings, MI 49058.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2016 from 6-8 pm at the Girrbach Funeral Home in Hastings. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, September 16, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Rose Church, 805 S. Jefferson St., Hastings. Fr. Stephan Philip, celebrant. Interment will take place at Mt Calvary Cemetery in Hastings.
