Lucy U. Lorz

Lucy Lorz (Susie) age 81, passed away Sunday December 2, 2012 at Thornapple Manor in Hastings. She was born on September 24, 1931 in Lewiston, Idaho the daughter of Phillip and Thelma (Oyler) Greer. Lucy was raised in the Washington and Idaho area where she worked in an apple packing company. It was there she found the man of her dreams, Kenneth Lorz. Together they had four daughters that kept her busy. Susie and her family moved from Orville Washington to Fairbanks Alaska in 1970. Susie and Ken opened a heating business on the North Slope (Prudhoe Bay Alaska). Susie loved to fish and camp, grow her gardens and can her vegetables. Susie was well know for her home made bread. She enjoyed crocheting while relaxing by the fireplace. Susie especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Thelma Greer and husband, Kenneth; brothers: Glenn Greer and Lyle Greer and sister, Loraine Park.

Susie is survived by her daughters: Delores (Rick) Sanders, Beverly (Marlin) Smith, Barb Lorz, Sherry (Rick) Argo; twelve grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren; brothers: Wesley Greer and Millard Greer; sisters: Kathy Beauchamp, Liz Schacher and Bev Breitenfeldt.
