Lyle W. Dunn, age 95 of Woodland, passed away December 28, 2016 at his home.
He was born at home on April 3, 1921 in Calhoun County to Spencer R. and Winnifred A. (Bagley) Dunn. He was the seventh of ten children.
Lyle was married twice, both ending in divorce.
He grew up on a farm and worked for many local dairy farms, working as a hired hand. Lyle retired from G&W Sales in Lake Odessa, as Service Manager, after 27 years of service. This summer at 95 years of age, Lyle was still repairing John Deere equipment for local farmers. He was referred to as the "John Deere Man", which was the theme for his 95th birthday party to which over 139 people attended, both young and old. Lyle also served as the Fire Chief of Lake Odessa.
His hobbies included playing ball, croquet, bowling, square dancing, playing euchre and flying remote controlled airplanes.
He is survived by his daughter, Janice Brace of Lake Odessa, Jack Dunn and Pam of Eaton Rapids, special friend, Helen Miller of Hastings, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, cousin, Helen Schantz of Nashville, and many friends to numerous to name.
He was preceded in death by his parents Spencer and Winnifred Dunn, daughters, JoAnn Faust and Jeri Rogers, grandson, Dan, brothers, Dale, Basil, Harold, Leon, Merle and Ralph, and sisters, Lela Strickland and Clara Hughes.
Respecting Lyle's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are scheduled at this time.
