Lyle Edward Holley passed away Friday morning, March 29, 2019. He went from the embrace of his loving family and into the embrace of his Savior, Jesus Christ, and those who love him and went on before him.
Lyle was born on January 7, 1924 in Middleville, Michigan the son of William Edward and Gladys Vera Ellsworth. He was a 1942 graduate of Kellogg High School. Lyle proudly served with the US Army in WW II at the rank of Sergeant. He also served in the Air Force Reserves in 1952, retiring in 1976 as Senior Master Sergeant. He was employed by Oliver Corporation in Battle Creek and worked at Michigan Air National Guard as a Jet Engine Technician. Lyle and his wife Leota also owned Cereal City Tom's Vending Machine Business from 1973-1983.
On January 29, 1944, he married his high school sweetheart, Leota Bassett, and was blessed with 50 years of marriage. Lyle was a member of the Misfits Car Club and attended Hickory Corners Bible Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, antique car shows, reading and Big Band music. Lyle wintered at Lazy Days Retirement Village in N. Fort Myers, Florida.
Lyle was preceded in death by his wife, Leota, parents William Edward and Gladys Vera Holley, brothers and sisters, Francis Eugene Holley, Pauline (Polly) Britton Rivers, William Ellsworth Holley, Robert Harold Holley, and daughters-in-law, Brenda (Finney) Holley, and Kathleen (Barnard) Holley.
He is survived by his children Barry (Julie) Holley of Augusta, Ronald (Mary) Holley of Hastings, Craig (Myrna) Holley of Bellevue, Christopher (JoAnn) Holley of Poway, CA; grandchildren, Reka Holley, Ronald Holley II, Renee (Dan) Gresly, Ryan (Kaitlyn) Holley, Regan Holley, Riston Holley, Ashleigh (Jake) Braman, Michael Holley, Jeffrey (Megan) Holley, Matthew Holley, Brent (Tina) Johnson, Scott Johnson, Jeff Johnson, Emily Zudwig, Adrian Zudwig; 13 great-grandchildren; loving companion Patricia Horsman; Mike Horsman, and Susan (Stanley) Richards.

Visitation will be held 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM at Girrbach Funeral Home on Sunday, March 31, 2019. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM Monday, April 1, 2019 at Hickory Corners Bible Church, 13720 Kellogg School Rd, Hickory Corners, MI, with Rev. Jeff Worden officiating.
