Marcia Jean Beard

Marcia J. Beard, age 79 of Hastings , passed away Friday September 25, 2015 at Pennock Hospital in Hastings.

Marcia was born June 5, 1936 in Middleville, Michigan, the daughter of Merl and Maryon (Campbell) Sherk.

She was raised in the Hastings area and graduated from Hastings High School. Marcia worked for and retired from Hastings Manufacturing Company after 34 years of service.
She married the love of her life Robert Beard on December 9 , 1978.  She was a member of the Hastings Elks Lodge for many years, and worked on several projects for the club. After retirement she worked at Gun Ridge Golf course.  She enjoyed meeting people and friends at Gun Ridge.

Marcia was preceded in death by her husband Robert Beard, her brother Donald Sherk, and parents Merl and Maryon Sherk.

Marcia is survived by her brother, Aaron Sherk and wife Sarah Jane, special nieces, Brenda Woodard and Shari Sherk, and several other nieces and nephews.

She was a very special person and will be missed by all. She will be in our hearts forever and with the grace of our Lord she is now in a better place.
Marcia will be missed by those who knew and loved her. May God take her into his arms as we take her into our hearts.

At her request, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. There will be a memorial luncheon at the Hastings Elks Lodge on Saturday October 10 , 2015 from 3:00pm to 6:00 PM.
