Margaret (Peg) Louise Carlin

Margaret “Peg” Louise Carlin, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, formerly of Gull Lake, passed away at the age of 94. She was born December 29, 1931, in Hastings, Michigan, the daughter of Lewis and Viola (Williams) Belson. On August 31, 1948, Peg married Richard Lee Carlin, and together they shared over 71 years of marriage.

Peg enjoyed a full and active life. She loved bowling, watching the birds and deer outside her homes at Gull Lake and in Kalamazoo, and never missed the Kentucky Derby or her weekly NASCAR races.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard, her daughter Roberta Bailey, three sisters, and her great‑granddaughter Ashley Nelson. She is survived by her son, James Carlin and his wife Phyllis, four grandchildren, seven great‑grandchildren, several great‑great‑grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Girrbach Funeral Home, 328 S Broadway, Hastings, Michigan, on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Noon, with a Funeral Service at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
