Marian Clarice Jacobs, age 89, of Hastings, Michigan, passed away on September 7, 2022. Marian was born October 27, 1932, in Hastings, Michigan, the daughter of Marion "Sam" and Gertrude (Miller) Becker. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1950 and attended Adrian College on scholarship, where she met Bill Jacobs and married in 1951.
Marian worked as a secretary at Plymouth-Canton and Taylor Public Schools. She was also the secretary to Walter Ruther at Ford Motor Company.
Marian played competitive duplicate bridge and was a former Senior North American Champion. She loved golf, and she and her husband "Bill Jacobs" were club champions at Palm Aire Country Club in Sarasota, Florida where they enjoyed a long retirement. Marian liked dancing, telling jokes, reading, and she loved sports, and was a big fan of Detroit teams – especially the Detroit Lions.
Marian was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, William F. Jacobs, and her parents Marion "Sam" and Gertrude Becker. Marian was the eldest of five daughters who have also passed: Louise, Elaine, Joyce, and Ann, and her son-in-law, John "Red" Warner.
She is survived by her daughters Debby Jacobs, Patricia Warner, Kathy (Larry) Baranyai; grandchildren Alicia (Nate) LaFrenier, Jacque (Brooke) LaFrenier, Laiana (Erik) Owens, Frantz LaFrenier, Theresa Baranyai, William (Aubrey) Baranyai, Robert (Maria) Baranyai, Jack Warner, and Joseph Warner; great-grandchildren Serenity Diebel, Ameerah LaFrenier, Aiden Acevedo, Avery Acevedo, Benjamin Baranyai, and Colton Baranyai; and brothers-in-law Al Cabose and Don McGuire.

Visitation is Tuesday, September 13, 2022, from 3:00-4:00 PM with a Memorial Service at 4:00 PM at Girrbach Funeral Home, 328 S Broadway; Hastings, MI 49058.
