Martha Jane (Kinsey) Brown , age 95, of the Villages, Florida, passed away at home on September 29, 2020. Martha was born on February 18, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Claude and Reva Kinsey.
Martha was a graduate of Mackenzie High School in Detroit, Michigan. She worked for the Detroit City Division of Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company, where she met her husband, George Brown. They were married on June 23, 1950. After living in Redford MI., Farmington Hills, MI. and Avon Lake, OH, they spent their retirement years with friends and family in Hastings, MI. They moved to The Villages, FL in July of 2017.
Blessed with a servant's heart, Martha spent many hours volunteering for church functions as well as volunteering at the Pennock Hospital Gift Shop. Martha enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening, traveling, playing golf and being with her family. She had a passion for animals and loved her dogs as much as her family. She was a member of the Hastings Country Club for many years.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, George, who died on February 2, 2020. She is survived by her sister Virginia Braun, her daughter Sue (Dave) Doozan of The Villages, FL, and her son, Richard (Wendy) Brown of Milford, MI and her six grandchildren.
Visitation at Girrbach Funeral Home from 10:00 to 10:45 am and a short Memorial Service from 10:45 to 11:00 am on Friday, October 16, 2020. Internment will follow, for Martha and George, with full military honors, at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan at 12:00 p.m. Social distancing and masks will be required at the cemetery.
