Martha “Helen” Fox, age 91, passed on February 28, 2026. She was born on July 24, 1934, in Blytheville, Arkansas, the daughter of Thomas and Saphrone Arnettie “Nettie” (McFadden) Gregory.
Helen graduated from Three Oaks High School and married the love of her life, James Fox, on August 8, 1953, in Three Oaks, Michigan. They shared 69 devoted years of marriage before James’ passing in 2023, and enjoyed their cottage on Stony Lake near Shelby, Michigan. Together, they faithfully served congregations in United Methodist Churches in Rosebush, Grand Rapids, Grand Ledge, Shelby, Wyoming, Fennville, Three Rivers, and Hastings. As a pastor’s wife for over 40 years, Helen embraced her calling with grace, humility, and dedication, taking great pride in her role as a homemaker and minister’s wife.
Helen’s greatest joy was her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her eleven siblings, her beloved husband James, and her daughter Elizabeth. She is lovingly remembered by her son, Mark (Debra McClure) Fox; her cherished grandson, Lucas (Taylor) Fox; and many nieces and nephews. Her proudest accomplishment was being a mother and grandmother, and she especially treasured the time she spent with Lucas.
Helen found happiness in simple, meaningful pursuits. She loved baking for family and friends, was an avid seamstress, and enjoyed knitting. Through every season of life, she created a warm and welcoming home filled with faith and love.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Girrbach Funeral Home, with a service at noon and a luncheon to follow. Helen will be interred at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements by Girrbach Funeral Home. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.girrbachfuneralhome.net.
