Martin H. Newsome, age 71 of Delton, passed away Friday, February 13, 2015 at his home.
Martin was born on August 2, 1943 in Louisa, Kentucky, the son of John and Mary (Smith) Newsome. He married Sharon Stratton on August 24, 1969. Martin worked in drywall most of his life until his retirement in 2000. He was a member of the Hastings Free Methodist Church.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Newsome, brother Charles Newsome and infant granddaughter, Brittney Newsome.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Newsome of Delton, son, Mike (Heather) Newsome, daughter, Dana Newsome (Tom Rosenberg), 5 grandchildren: Mackinsie, Brook, and Brent Newsome, Brandon Robinson, Harley Wilber, one great-grandson, Nathaniel Holland, two sisters, Louise (Tom) Few of Florida and Karen Crabtree of Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family or the Hastings Free Methodist Church.
Respecting Martin's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial service will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Free Methodist Church, 2635 N. M-43 Hwy., Hastings, MI.
