Marvin George Dunkelberger

October 29, 1936 — March 29, 2018

Marvin George Dunkelberger, age 81 of Hastings, Michigan, passed away at his home on March 29, 2018.

Marvin was born on October 29, 1936 in Maple Grove Township, Barry County, the son of Merril and Edith (Ball) Dunkelberger.

He graduated from Hastings High School, class of 1955.  Marvin and Georgia (Dodie) Wheeler were married on June 19, 1973 and have enjoyed 43 years of marriage. Marvin worked for Burkey Sales and Service for 15 years and retired from Hastings Manufacturing after 30 years of service.  He also worked in the Dunk-n-Family Crafts Shop for 22 years.

Marvin was a member of the Thornapple Valley Church.  He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, going to garage sales, camping, cutting wood and spending time with family.  Marvin also loved serving at his church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Merril and Edith Dunkelberger and brother, Harvey Dunkelberger.   Marvin is survived by his wife, Georgia (Dodie) Dunkelberger and children, Barb (Mark) Levandoski, Alice (Jim) Gielarowski, Dan (Renee) Dunkelberger, Brenda Marie (Chick) Pennock, Tressa Rose, Brenda Kay (Tony) Heath, RaeCel Rose, Marti (Rick) Kruger, 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, three sisters, Lucille Whitney, Linda Kay (Paul) Sturgis, Annette (Ray) Snore and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to Spectrum Health Hospice or Thornapple Valley Church.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2019 at 12:00 pm at Thornapple Valley Church, 2750, S. M-43 Hwy., Hastings, MI  49058.  Rev. Carla Smith will officiate the service.
