Mary Agnes Miller Hawkins Edwards, age 87 of Hastings, died Saturday January 17, 2009 at Pennock Hospital in Hastings.\r
Born to Theodore and Lois (Hawkins) Miller on March 5, 1921. Her Mother died on March 11, 1921 and she was adopted by her maternal grandparents, Bert and Mary Hawkins on September 28, 1921.\r
She married Marvin Edwards September 28, 1940 in Bryon, Ohio. She had three daughters, Evelyn McWilliams of Hastings, Maryann (Fred) Bell of Nashville, and Barbara Westbrook of Sheridan. Mary has 9 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren, several step-grandchildren, many step-great grandchildren and step-great-great grandchildren, also several nieces and nephews and one dear to her heart is Gordon Bennett. \r
Mary attended St. Rose School in Hastings. She worked for Hastings Manufacturing, Hastings Aluminum Products and Metal Tile.\r
She loved and enjoyed her family. She loved music as she cleaned her home, she was an excellent homemaker, she sang or whistled or had music playing. One of her favorite songs was ""Have I Told You Lately That I Love You"".\r
Mary became a Christian in her sixties. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin in 1999 a daughter Maryann Bell in 2008, and her great-granddaughter Mary Lehman in 1990. \r
Visitation will be held Monday from 6-8pm at the Girrbach Funeral Home in Hastings. Funeral services will be held Tuesday January 20, 2009 at 11:00an at the Girrbach Funeral Home with visitation 1hr prior to service time. \r
