Mary Marie Matthysse

Mary Marie Matthysse, age 86, of Delton, Michigan, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 14, 2023, with her family by her side.

Mary was born on January 22, 1937, in Grandville, Michigan, the daughter of Harlin and Leona (Truex) Stout.  She was a 1955 graduate of Grandville High School.  On November 21, 1958, Mary married Donald Matthysse, and they enjoyed 64 years together.  Mary and Donald lived in Jenison and enjoyed wintering in Florida for several years before moving to Delton a year ago.

Mary loved doing puzzles, camping, traveling, reading, and spending time with her family.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and she enjoyed her great-grandchildren.  She had a strong faith in God.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Harlin and Leona Stout and her sister, brothers, and nephew.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Donald Matthysse, daughter Katherine (Keith) Parmeter, Daniel Matthysse, Karen (Tim) Pickett, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
