Mary Belle Thompson, age 75 of Wayland, Michigan, passed away Friday, July 22, 2016 at the Laurels of Sandy Creek.
Mary was born in Battle Creek, Michigan, the daughter of Alvin Edward Morgan and Josephine Eleanor Rose. She attended Freeport High School. Mary and Kenneth L. Thompson were married on June 1, 1959.
Mary enjoyed working in the yard, reading books, and attending the Calvary Apostolic Tabernacle Church in Battle Creek, MI. She loved seeing and being with family and friends and loved to laugh. Mary also loved the residents and staff at the Thornapple Manor Cottages.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Josephine Morgan, her husband of 50 years, Kenneth Thompson (2010), and brothers, Richard Morgan, and Russell Charles Morgan.
Mary is survived by her children: David Mark Thompson of Nashville, MI, Terry Lynn Thompson of Stanton, MI, Valery Jo Thompson of Vancouver, WA, sisters: Jeanette (Ray) Burt of Warsaw, IN, Nancy Jo (Wayne Wiand) Morgan of Hastings, MI, brother, Alvin (Nancy) Morgan of Nashville, MI, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service and dinner will be held at the Calvary Apostolic Church, 511 Morgan Rd., Battle Creek, MI (269-979-4142) on August 6, 2016 at 3:00 pm. Pastor Jayson Rodriquez will officiate the service.
