Norman D. McIntyre age 78 of Hastings went to be with his Lord on Friday February 27, 2009 at Thornapple Manor in Hastings.\r
He was born September 16, 1930 in Hastings, the son of Cameron and Dorris (Mead) McIntyre. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1948.\r
Norman served in the United States Army from 1952 until 1954. He married Carol Griffeth April 16, 1955.\r
Norman was a building contractor most all his life, he was owner of McIntyre Builders and built many homes in the area.\r
He helped build many churches with the Hiawatha Baptist Mission, he went to Canada, Wisconsin, Alaska, and Upper Michigan building churches. He also built the Hastings Baptist and Nashville Baptist Churches. \r
Norman enjoyed reading, woodworking and traveling.\r
He was preceded in death by his parents and a twin sister Ardythe.\r
Norman is survived by his wife, Carol McIntyre of Hastings, his children Lyndy (Jerry) Bolthouse of Hastings; Sandy (Lee) Poll of Hastings;Graden (Paulette Szykowny) McIntyre of Toledo, OH.; Patrick (Bettina) McIntyre of Atlanta,GA., grandchildren, Jay Bolthouse (Mika Suzuki);Levi Bolthouse; Carrie (Luke) Cook; Casey Bolthouse; Luke Poll; Doug Poll; Shannon Poll; Ella McIntyre, Great Grandchildren, Eleanor & Lucy Cook, sister, Ann (Arthur) Mueller, sister in-law Joyce (Bob) Martin, many nieces and nephews.\r
Visitation will be held Sunday from 5-7pm at the Girrbach Funeral Home in Hastings. Funeral services will be held Monday March 2, 2009 at 11:00am at the Hastings First Baptist Church with 1 hr. visitation prior to service. Pastor George Gay officiating, and burial will be at Barryville Cemetery.\r
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Thornapple Manor or Hastings First Baptist Church/ Worship Center Makeover.\r
