Pamela Ann (Olesky) Smith, age 55 of Hastings, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014 at her home in Hastings.
Pamela was born on Valentines Day February 14, 1959 in Bridgeview, Illinois, the daughter of Theodore and Patricia (Moser) Olesky. She attended Argo Community High School where she graduated in 1977. Pamela married Malcolm Smith May 27, 1978. She worked in the office at State Farm Insurance until her retirement due to a disabling chronic illness. Pamela enjoyed walking down nature trails with her unique owl-decorated walking stick or strolling through the town of Hastings. When people asked Pamela or Malcolm the secret to their long lasting marriage, they would simply respond: "Just be each other's best friend, that's what has worked for us."
Pamela was preceded in death by her father, Theodore Olesky, and her brother, Michael Olesky.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 36 years Malcolm Smith residing in Hastings, her mother, Patricia (Moser) Olesky of Bridgeview, Illinois, her nephew, Michael Olesky II , wife (Monica) & daughter (Olivia) of Los Angeles, CA.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Smith Family.
Respecting Pamela's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
