Pearlie Mae Mosby passed away peacefully on August 3, 2024, in Hastings, Michigan. Pearlie was born on May 29, 1939, in Sodus, Michigan, the daughter of Ernest and Bessie (Burris) McGinnis, Sr.
Pearlie's educational journey was marked by her graduation from Benton Harbor High School in 1956, followed by her graduation from Lake Michigan College in 1958. Her professional life was dedicated to caring for others as a nurse at Memorial Hospital in the 1960s, and Bendix from 1968 until her retirement in 1975 due to health issues. Pearlie was married to William T. Dixon in 1958, and later, Albert Mosby in 1975. Pearlie was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church from 1969 until her passing.
Pearlie possessed an artistic flair, which she expressed through sewing, crafts, and jewelry making. Her creative touch also extended to her home, which she enjoyed remodeling. Pearlie's love for cooking and baking meant that her kitchen was often filled with the delicious aromas of her latest creations.
Pearlie was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Leonard McGinnis, Ernest McGinnis, Jr, Richard George McGinnis, Joseph Netfield McGinnis, Samuel James McGinnis, George Russell McGinnis, Excell McGinnis, Josephine McGinnis, Irene Richardson, Mattie Pearson, and Bessie Marie Caston.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Lisa Dixon Echols Williams of Glendale, Arizona and Damita Dixon Burks of Wyoming, Michigan; her granddaughters Jasminque Anderson of Stockbridge, Georgia, and Brittany McElheny of Wyoming, Michigan; grandsons Paris Echols and Arsenio Cornelius of Grandville, Michigan; great-granddaughter Zoey Echols of Wyoming, Michigan, Maya McElheny of Wyoming, Michigan; great-grandsons Trey and Tyler Anderson of Stockbridge, Georgia, Alexander McElheny of Wyoming, Michigan, and Levi Cornelius of Grandville, Michigan; her sister, Ernestine Wysinger of Atlanta, Georgia and Bertha Kay Herring of Chicago, Illinois, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
