Peggy Anne Raines, age 85 of Middleville passed away unexpectedly Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.

She was born September 23, 1926 in Yankton, South Dakota the daughter of Eula and Newman Peterson. Peggy attended Washington High School in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, graduating in 1944. She married Clinton Raines on August 4, 1946. She retired from Farmers and Merchants Bank where she worked as first a teller and later as Trust officer. Peggy also managed the family farm.

Peggy was a volunteer at the hospital, Altar Guild member and a PTA member. Her greatest joy is life was taking care of her husband and family. Peggy enjoyed cooking and swimming as well.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eula and Newman Peterson and guardians, Wright and Myrtle Alguire.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Clinton Raines of Middleville, MI, brother, Gerald (Mary) Peterson of Texas, sister-in-law, Joyce Raines of Sioux Falls, SD,

daughters: Julie (Ron) Dingerson of Woodland, MI, Renee (Doyle) Dingman of Bellvue, MI, Cynthia Turecamo of South Salem, NY, grandchildren: Sarah Geukes, Maggie Benhan, Abby Mattice, Kelsey Gilbert, Nicole Honsberger, Carly Turecamo, Jennifer Turecamo, Scott Turecamo and eight great grandchildren,

Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who will be remembered for her kind heart and devotion to her family.
