Philip Jon Myers

Philip Jon Myers, age 68 of Hastings, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Heartland Manor in Battle Creek.
Philip was born January 19, 1948 in Hastings, Michigan, the son of Floyd and Virginia (Gilding) Myers. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1966. Phil married Judy Frye on July 22, 1967.
Phil worked at Shirkey's IGA during the mid 1960's. From 1968 to 2000 he worked for Michigan Bell as a switching specialist, then as a computer programmer. After retiring from Michigan Bell he did computer contract work for SAIC, GM, The Federal Center in Battle Creek, Delta Dental and many other companies. Phil also had his own professional photography business, "Old School Studios" from 2003 to 2013.
Phil enjoyed photography, traveling, computers and technology, four wheeling with his Jeep, hunting and Genealogy. He loved John Deere tractors, telling Myers jokes and Taco parties with the family.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Virginia Myers and brother, Richard (Dick) Myers.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Myers of Hastings, children: David (Heather) Myers of Holland, Jeffrey (Jessica) Myers of Hastings, and Jennifer (Devan) Endres of Hastings, brother, Ronald (JoEllyn) Myers of Middleville, 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 12, 2016 from 6-8 pm at the Girrbach Funeral Home in Hastings. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 11:00 am also at the funeral home.
Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Hastings.
