He was a 1958 graduate of Gull Lake High School. His early career saw him excel as a Branch Manager for Sherriff Goslin in Hastings, Michigan, from 1960 until 1972. In 1973, Dick embarked on a new venture, founding Dick's Roofing and Siding. He continued to lead his company with integrity and commitment until his well-deserved retirement in 2017.
On August 24, 1973, Dick married Juanita, the love of his life, and together they shared 46 years until her passing in 2020.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Bryant and Effa DeBolt, and his stepdaughter, Carolyn Allen, and brother Bryant DeBolt.
Dick's legacy is carried on by his loving children Mark (Julie) DeBolt, Matt (Patty) DeBolt, Mike (Angie) DeBolt, Wally Barbee, and Deborah (Stewart) Price, 13 very special grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two special nieces, Nikki Plummer and Lynn Filtenborg, and nephew, Bryant DeBolt.
An avid enthusiast of classic cars, Dick took great joy in his 1924 Ford Model T and his 1930 Model A Tudor. Dick also found joy in the great outdoors, whether hunting and fishing with his buddies or simply enjoying the tranquility of his cabin in Watersmeet, Michigan. His winters were warmly spent in Florida, where he cherished the company of his friends and the respite from the cold.
