Richard ""Andy"" Monroe, age 84, passed away, Wednesday, February 23, 2011 surrounded by his family. He was born November 4, 1926, the son of Fred and Martha (Klink) Monroe. Andy was a Word War II veteran. He retired after 26 years from Nicholas Plastics. Andy and the love of his life, Sandy (Harne) were married 35 wonderful years. \r
He was a very kind man, loved gardening, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. \r
Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Martha Monroe, brothers, Bud, Jack, Chuck and Bob Monroe, sisters; Helen Monroe, Joyce Mansfield, and son-in-law, Dennis James I.\r
He is survived by his wife, Sandy, three daughters; Karen (Curt) Johnson, Deb James, and Beth (Jack) Bond, 7 grandchildren; Nicole (Brian) Shafer, DJ (Bridget) James, Dillon Bond, Scott Perry, Andrew (Betsy) Perry, Nicholas Perry, Kurtis Anderson, 9 great grandchildren, special sister-in-law, Lois Monroe, special nephew, Robert Monroe, special niece, Peggy Weaver and many nieces and nephews.\r
Funeral services were held February 28, 2011. Burial at Chapel Hill Cemetery.\r
To his wife and his family he was the most wonderful man that God put on this earth.\r
