Robert Lynn Carpenter

Robert Lynn Carpenter, age 58, of Vermontville, Michigan, passed away May 13, 2011, unexpectedly. He was born April 16, 1953 in Grand Rapids, Michigan the son of Leon and Juanita (Theide) Carpenter. Robert graduated from Hastings in 1984. He worked doing janitorial work in the Middleville schools, worked in the factory and had to take an early retirement in 1998. Robert loved being with family and friends, going camping, fishing, bowling, roller skating and watching movies. He also loved going on long rides on his motorcycle. He was the biggest joker, very loving and caring and he would do anything for anybody. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Juanita Carpenter of Hastings and one older sister, Wilma Carpenter of Hastings. He is survived by his son, Jacob Carpenter of Vermontville, daughter, Angela Carpenter of Charlotte, sister, Gale (Bobby) Branch of Kalamazoo, brother Rondy (Cindy) Carpenter of Lawrence, sister, Corine (Joey) Anderson of Nashville, one grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held, Friday, May 20, 2011, 1:00 pm at the First Congregational Church, 110 S. Main, Vermontville, MI. Pastor Israel Young will be officiating the service.
