Robert Norman Fillingham

Robert N. (Bob) Fillingham, 81, passed away on May 11, 2023, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Bob was born on October 9, 1941, in Hastings, Michigan, the son of Norman W. and Helen (Roberts) Fillingham. Bob was raised by his grandparents Walter and Mattie Belle Fillingham on a farm just west of Hastings.  He graduated from Thornapple Kellogg High School in 1960.

On November 11, 1961, Bob married Patricia Turnes after a 3-year courtship, they enjoyed 61-1/2 years together, raising 3 children: Teresa (Albert) Gonzalez, Benjermin (Catrina) Fillingham and Tammi Fleury.

Bob worked at farming, factory work, mechanic, crane operator and owning his own business.

After retiring, Bob spent his days doing the things he loved most with his family and friends, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, camping, gardening, playing cards, traveling the U.S. extensively, and his favorite, knife making.

His loved ones could always count on him for wise life advice and an entertaining story.  He was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge, and also the Gun Lake Snowmobile Association.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, along with a number of family members.

He is survived by his wife Patricia, daughters Teresa and Tammi, son Benjermin, grandchildren Erica (Dominic) Catalona, Kasey LyVere, Matthew (Rachel) Potter, Kelsea (Spencer) Calamita, Amanda Fleury, Jacob (Kara) Fillingham, and Kristin LyVere, great-grandchildren Caleb and Ethan Carr, Cayden, Lawson, and Quinn Fillingham and Mina Calamita, sisters Kay Sines, Carol (Toad) Clark, Eva Richards, sisters-in-law Liz Haight and Mary Turnes, brother and sister-in-law Chuck and Pat Turnes, and numerous nieces and nephews.
