Robert Howard Kane, age 84 of Hastings, passed away Monday, September 22, 2014 at his residence.
Bob was born on August 30, 1930 in Pasedena, California, the son of Rollie and Hilda (Mathwig) Kane. He attended Corcoran, California High School, graduating in 1948. Bob honorably served in the Korean War from 1950 to 1953. He married Virginia Kane on June 23, 1953.
Bob was a member of the Hastings Seventh Day Adventist Church. He worked for and retired from the Battle Creek Sanitarium in 1991. Bob enjoyed reading his bible and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Rollie and Hilda Kane and his son, Stanley Kane.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Kane of Hastings, daughters: Susan Kane of Tacoma, WA, Sara (Rick) Shaffer of Three Rivers, MI, Stephanie (John) Repp of Hastings, son, Scott (Toni) Kane of Auburn, WA, seven grandsons, 5 granddaughters and two great-grandchildren, brother, Norman (Lyda) Kane of Rosamond, CA, and sister, Dorothy Culbert of Fairbanks, Alaska and 30 nieces and nephews.
Respecting Bob's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 904 Terry Lane, Hastings, MI.
