Robert R. Lumbert, age 83 of Hastings, passed away July 5, 2016 at his residence.
Robert was born on March 27, 1933, in Sunfield, Michigan, the son of Ray and Edna (Bruce) Lumbert. He attended Delton High School, graduating in 1952.
Bob honorably served in the Korean War from 1953 to 1955. He married Beverly Woodmansee on February 28, 1953. She preceded him in death on March 10, 2009. Bob worked for Bradford White's in Middleville for 39 1/2 years, until his retirement.
Bob enjoyed helping his family and friends, in any way he could. He also liked gardening, hunting, fishing, woodworking and was a collector of several things. Bob also loved working with his son-in-law and grandson on the farm and sawmill.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Beverly, brother, Ray Lumbert Jr., sister, Ruth Getman, brother, Charles (Butch) Lumbert and sister, Mary Ryan.
He is survived by his daughters, Carolyn Lumbert of Hastings, Marilyn (Pete) Dunn of Battle Creek, grandchildren: Peter and Miranda Dunn of Battle Creek, Scott and Lyndsay LaRue of Wayland, Great-grandchildren, Montana, Sylvia, Francesca, Mason and Charlie Renee, sisters: Donna McCrackin and Sue McKay and close friend Ezra Dunn.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Johnstown Township Hall, 13641 S. M-37 Hwy., Battle Creek, MI 49017.
