Robert Lee Munn, 82, of Freeport, passed away Friday, October 31, 2014 at his home in Freeport after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's Disease.

Bob was born in Plains Township, MI on May 21, 1932 to Olin and Verna (Heistand) Munn. He graduated from Hastings High School before serving honorably in the U.S. Army in the Korean War.

Bob married Phyllis Woods in 1953 and they had two children, Joseph and Melissa. He later married Carolyn (Williams) Tossava in 1980;

Bob was a long time member of the Wesleyan Methodist church where he was involved in many areas of the church and on the Local Board of Administration. His working career started at Larke Buick, Chenoweth Machine, and Hastings Manufacturing Company where he retired after 38 years of service. He also started Munn Manufacturing Company in Irving and later moved it to Freeport. That business is still in operation and is now owned and operated by Bob's step-daughter and son-in-law, Steve and Wendy Buehler.

After Bob retired, he spent his time restoring street rods and antique cars. His favorite was his 1934 Plymouth Coupe which he and Carol spent many week-ends traveling to car shows, sometimes in other states. He also enjoyed camping, hobby farming, and reading.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Carol; his son, Joseph (Julie) of Allegan; his daughter, Melissa (James) Powers of Dowling; his step-daughter, Wendy (Steve) Buehler of Freeport; his step-daughter, Sue (Sean) McMahon of Freeport; his grandchildren, Kristin Ritz, Courtney Kortman, Joshua Munn, Robert Redburn, Paul Redburn, Paige Buehler, Logan Buehler, Haden McMahon, Nolan McMahon and Brooklyn McMahon; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, David (Ronda) of Wetmore, MI; a sister, Nancy Munn of Hastings.

A visitation will be held Monday, November 3, 2014 from 6pm to 8pm at the Girrbach Funeral Home in Hastings. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Girrbach Funeral Home.

Memorial Contributions may be made in Bob's name to Barry Community Foundation or Wounded Warrior Project.
