Robert Charles Ward, age 78 of Hastings, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Bob was born in Hastings, Michigan on July 17, 1937, the son of Clifford and Frances (Aldrich) Ward. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1955. Bob honorably served in the US Army for 2 years and also served 4 years in the reserve. He married Joy Decker on December 26, 1958. Bob worked at The Superette for many years and Felpausch Food in Hastings. He retired from Bradford White's after 40 years, where he worked as a supervisor.
Bob was a lifetime active member of the Hastings Moose Lodge. He enjoyed bowling and golfing. Bob loved Sunday family dinners and spending time with grandkids.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Frances Ward and youngest son, Brad Ward.
He is survived by his wife , Joy Ward of Hastings, his children: Shari (Bryan) Carpenter of Middleville, Doug (Kandra Laubaugh) Ward of Hastings, 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Respecting Bob's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are being held at this time.
