Ronald Kenneth Bignall

April 16, 1944 — July 8, 2024

Ronald Kenneth Bignall, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2024, in Lowell, Michigan. He was born on April 16, 1944, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of Richard and Muriel (Osbun) Bignall.

Ron was a 1963 graduate of Byron Center High School.  He dedicated 30 years of service to Steelcase, retiring in 2000, and worked an additional 19 years at  Walmart, retiring in 2020.

Ron was an avid fisherman and hunter, finding solace and joy in the tranquility of nature. His collection of knives and Hot Wheels was a testament to his appreciation for craftsmanship and nostalgia. Ron had a love for the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Above all, Ron's greatest pleasure was spending time with his family, who were the cornerstone of his life. One of the greatest highlights of his life was when he and Linda took a dream trip to Alaska, a gift from their children.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Richard "Dick" and Muriel (Osbun)  Bignall, and sisters, Rebecca Bignall and Gayle Fish, and niece Sheri. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his devoted wife of 59 years, Linda Bignall of Middleville; his daughters, Robin (Barry) Raterink of Caledonia, Laurie (Dan) Hultquist of Hastings, and Melissa (Ryan) Lowell of Hastings; grandchildren Jacob (Linsey) Raterink, Joshua Raterink, Clay VanderKodde, Makenna, Braeden, and Jaelynne Lowell; great-grandchildren Astrid VanderKodde and Soren Raterink; and siblings Jim (Teresa) Bignall and Janie Post.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Laurels of Kent and Gentiva Hospice for their compassionate care during Ron's final days. Memorial Contributions in Memory of Ron can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, https://act.alz.org/donate.
