Ronald Ray Miller, age 77, of Middleville, Michigan, passed away on March 2, 2022.
Ron was born on April 15, 1944, the son of George and Violet (Yonkers) Miller. He was a 1962 graduate of Hastings High School and a 1967 graduate of Michigan State University, where he was a member of the ROTC. On August 21, 1965, after 5 years of dating, Ron married Janet Barnum, and they enjoyed 56 years together.
Ron was a math teacher and wrestling coach from 1967-68, leaving to serve his country in Vietnam in the Army Artillery. He also served in the National Guard and was the Post Commander in Charlotte, MI. He later worked for Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company.
Ron was a member of the American Legion Post 45, the VFW, and the Kiwanis Club of Hastings. He loved to hunt, fish and camp with family. He was an avid fan of his grandkid's sports/activities and enjoyed concerts and campfires.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, George and Violet Miller.
He is survived by his wife Janet, daughters Emma Jo "Jodi" (Jack) Chance of Grandville, MI, Melia (Bill) Haywood of Hastings, MI, Rebecca "Becky" (Tim) Nissen of Rock Hill, SC, grandchildren Joshua (Anna) Haywood, Eden Joy Haywood, Matthew (Spencer) Chance, Claire Chance, Michael Chance, Keri Nissen, Riley Nissen, and sister Carolyn Rae (Ardie) Wilder.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 6, 2022, at Girrbach Funeral Home, 328 S Broadway; Hastings, MI 49058 from 1:00–3:00 PM with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 3:00 PM.
