Russell L. Brower, age 98 of Hastings, passed away Friday, January 15, 2016 at Woodlawn Meadows in Hastings.
Russell was born on November 1, 1917 in Fenton, Michigan, the son of Frederick and Emma (Gardner) Brower. He attended school in Hartland, Michigan and also attended 2 years at General Motors Tech School for tool and die making. Russell worked for General Motors for 30 years until his retirement in 1956.
Russell married Mildred Harvey on September 22, 1956. He attended the Woodland United Methodist Church. Russell enjoyed golfing and hunting.
Russell was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred, grandson, Gary Selby, two step-children, four brothers, Ollice, Clayton, Stanley and Harold, and sister, Gladys.
He is survived by his daughters, Nelma (Dave) Selby of Hastings, Karen Carlisle of Fountain Hills, 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.
Respecting Russell's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held in Linden, Michigan in the Spring.
