Sally Ann (Nyberg) McCall

Peacefully passed away, surrounded by her family, on October 12, 2023, in Hastings, Michigan at age 77. Born November 3, 1945, in Allegan, Michigan to Lawrence and Lucile Nyberg of Allegan, Michigan.  Graduated from Allegan High School in 1963.  Graduated with a BS Degree in Nursing from Michigan State University in 1967.  Married for 56 years to her husband Michael McCall of Hastings, Michigan.  They met when she was a senior at Allegan High School at "The Note" in Yankee Springs.  Mike travelled back and forth from attending Ferris State to MSU every weekend to study together for four years before getting married in March of 1967.  They lived in married housing until her graduation in June of 1967.  They moved to Hastings in August of 1967 where they have resided since that time.

Sally worked as a medical surgical nurse at Bronson Hospital until the birth of their first child in 1969.  After raising their three girls, she returned to nursing where she worked in as a children's psychiatric nurse in Battle Creek, Michigan until her retirement in 2001.  Sally and Mike have enjoyed traveling to visit their grandchildren in Michigan, Minnesota and Colorado.

Sally is proceeded in death by her father Lawrence Nyberg (1991) and her mother Lucile Nyberg (2018).  She is survived by her husband Michael and children Kimberly (Paul) Chaffin of Woodbury, Minnesota, Kelli (Michael) Smith of Littleton, Colorado and Kristen (Jeff) Chaffin of South Lyon, Michigan, six grandchildren: Cole and Julia Chaffin, Jordan and Ryann Smith, and Tyler and Jenna Chaffin, and sister and brother-in-law Sandy and Doug Grabe of Kalamazoo, Michigan.  No visitation and no service per her request.
