Sandra Marie Thompson

Age 64, of Middleville passed away, with her daughter by her side, on June 26, 2016 at Magnum Care of Hastings. She was born in Winona, Minnesota on June 11, 1952, the daughter of James Woods and Betty (Miller) Foster. She attended school in Caledonia and in 1993 graduated from Newport/Pacific High School with a G.E.D. On August 29, 1969 she married Dennis Thompson. She worked for Little Caesars Pizza and retired after 10 years. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking, and sewing. Sandra was a caring and giving person. She would help anyone that needed it. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, having them come over to stay. She loved flowers and hummingbirds, and planted a vegetable garden every year. She passed unexpectedly after only a few short weeks of learning she had cancer. Her family loves her and she will be missed.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her mother Betty Miller, husband of 45 years Dennis Thompson, daughter Shannon (fiancé Joe Smitherman) granddaughters Ashlee and Tarra, grandson Tylar, sisters Theresa (Paul) Acklin, Patti (Mark) Fierstine, Peggy (Dave) Hall, Kathren Ayers, Mary (Rick) Dague, and Kelly (Pat) McClanahan.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service at 12:00 PM on July 10, 2016 at Cider Mill Village Clubhouse 425 Cider Mill Drive, Middleville, MI 49333 with a Memorial Luncheon following at 1:00 PM. Bring a dish to pass, sandwiches and drinks are provided. Contributions can be made in Sandra's name to Hospice Spectrum Health 100 Michigan Street NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503 or the American Cancer Society 1755 Abbey Road, East Lansing, MI 48823.
