Scott Richard Evans

Scott Richard Evans, age 48, of Delton, passed away on April 19, 2020.  Scott was born on April 20, 1971 in Lansing, Michigan, the son of Dennis Richard and Judith Kay (Powell) Evans. In June 1993, he married Melissa Cross. Scott attended Maple Valley and Hastings Area Schools, graduating in 1990.

He worked as a sander restoring wood floors, and recently worked at Trane rebuilding air conditioners. Scott enjoyed building things with wood and was a diehard Detroit Lions football fan. He enjoyed spending time and his kids and grandkids.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law Sharon Cross, grandparents Theodore and Beatrice Evans and Kenneth and Beulah (Pomeroy) Powell.

He is survived by his wife Melissa Evans of Delton, MI, son Ryan (Alexis) Evans of Delton, MI, daughter Amanda (Eric) Evans of Hastings, MI, Kaylee Evans of Delton, mich grandchildren Sam Boersma, Amelia Boersma, Keagan Evans, Baby Evans, Sister Teresa Keel (Evans), Nieces Wendy Perrier, Alisha Smith, Taylor Cross, Terryn Cross, Tristen Cross, Tealy Cross, nephews Jason McClurkin, Brandon McClurkin, great niece Mallory McClurkin, great nephews Charles, Ely Gerhart, and Baby McClurkin.

There will be a visitation from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2020 at Girrbach Funeral Home 328 S. Broadway Street, Hastings, Michigan 49058.

In compliance with the Governor's order, we will only allow 10 people at a time into the building. There will be a Memorial Service after the restrictions are released.
