Stephen Guy Peabody passed away on May 8, 2024, in Nashville, Michigan. He was born on May 20, 1953, in Mason, Michigan, the son of Donovan and Shirley Peabody.
Steve graduated from Marshall High School. After graduation, he embarked on a distinguished 20-year career in the United States Air Force, where he served as a Crew Chief with honor and distinction. His service included deployments in Desert Storm and the Gulf War. Upon retirement from the military, Steve continued to embody the values of loyalty and camaraderie through his active involvement with the American Legion and the Legion Riders.
Steve was a Harley Davidson fanatic, not just riding motorcycles but living the freedom they symbolized. Steve's hands were skilled in the art of woodworking, a craft that allowed him to create beauty and functionality from the simplest of materials. He enjoyed bowling, being a member of the 300 Club. He was very sociable and loved talking with people. But what truly made Steve's heart sing was the time he spent with his entire family.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents and his wife, Phyllis.
Steve is survived by his loving family, including his sons, Stephen Peabody (Bonnie Anderson), Ryan Peabody (Christin Warren), and William (Sarah) Peabody; daughter, Christina (Dustin) Wood; brother, Michael (Sally) Peabody; and sister, Paula (John) Huggett. He was a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews and a doting grandfather to many grandchildren who will miss him dearly.
