Thomas Robert Martino, age 59 of Hastings passed away unexpectedly, January 26, 2015 in Caledonia, Michigan.
Tom was born in Peoria, Illinois on January 11, 1956, the son of Joe Victor and Mary Teresa (Santi) Martino. He attended Roanoke Benson High School and completed a Caterpillar apprentice program.
In earlier years, Tom was an employee for Caterpillar in Peoria, Illinois. For the past 25 years, he has been employed with Benteler Automotive of Wyoming, Michigan as a Prototype Engineer.
On October 14, 2011 he married Darlene Fisher. Tom was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church. He was an avid fisherman and loved to make trips to Wisconsin with his father and brother, Jim. Tom loved music, movies and spending time helping people in recovery.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Darlene F. Martino, parents, Mary Teresa and Joe Victor Martino, daughters, Kathy (Pat), Heather, Erica (Sam), and Carla, stepsons, Tony (Bridget) and Casey, brother, Jim (Pam) Martino, sister, Mary Jo (Lynn) Roseman, sister, Colleen (Phil) Oltman, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Rose of Lima Church in Hastings.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the Girrbach Funeral Home in Hastings.
A funeral mass will be held on Monday, February 2, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Rose of Lima Church, 805 S. Jefferson St., Hastings, MI. Fr Richard Altine, celebrant. A luncheon will follow the Funeral Mass.
