Virginia Lee Argo

Virginia "Ginny" Lee (Hewitt) Argo, age 88, passed away on August 1, 2025, in Galesburg, Michigan. She was born July 23, 1937, in Albion, Michigan, to Carl Hewitt and Dorothea (Brown) Barber and attended Galesburg Schools.

Ginny married Eugene Argo on January 16, 1954, and together they shared 47 years of marriage until his passing. Though she worked briefly as a Nurses' Aid, Ginny was devoted primarily to being a homemaker.

She lived a rich and creative life, and had a very eclectic set of interests. An avid writer of short stories and poetry, Ginny also enjoyed painting, drawing, quilting, knitting, sewing, and crafting. She had a love for puzzles, horses, and her cherished pets. Her faith was important to her, and she was a member of the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall.

Ginny was preceded in death by her husband Eugene; her parents; and siblings Carl Hewitt, Joyce Mills, Ted Hewitt, Earl Hewitt, Jerry Hewitt, Jack Hewitt, and Gloria Call.

She is survived by her children Vickey (Joe Longcor) Argo, Rickey (Cindy) Argo, Audrey (Martin) Kleczinski, and Tina (Eric Papazian) Argo; sister Cindy (Ike) Scovel; grandchildren Regina Argo, Ryan (Kristin) Argo, and Rickey (Sara) Argo Jr.; and great-grandchildren Cameron Argo, Craig Count, Gavin Argo, Karsyn Argo, Kooper Argo, Krew Argo, Bradley French, and Weston Barnett.

A funeral service will be held Friday, August 8, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Girrbach Funeral Home in Hastings, with visitation from Noon to 1:00 PM.
