Virlin "Curly" Goforth

Virlin "Curly" Goforth, age 89 of Freeport, passed away on June 26, 2019 at his home.

Virlin was born on October 20, 1929 the son of Jesse and Myrtle (Carrier) Goforth.  He attended Arlington High School in Arlington, Indiana, and worked for Baby Bliss for 45 years as an Industrial Sewing Machine Mechanic.  Virlin proudly served his country in both the Navy and the Army.    On March 3, 1956 he married Janet Maxine (Miller) Goforth.

Virlin was an avid gardener, hunter, and foster parent for 25 years, raising over 200 children.

Virlin is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife of 53 years.  He is survived by his children Gina (Jack) Wesseldyke, Aaron (Terri) Goforth, Michael Goforth, Chris Goforth, Michelle Walters, Grandchildren Janet (Randy) Lubben, James Stevenson, Jesse Stevenson, Caley Goforth, 5 great-grandchildren, brother Clark (Mary) Goforth, and sister Cathy McBride.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Girrbach Funeral Home, 328 S Broadway, Hastings, Michigan 49058.
