Wayne Ellsworth

September 22, 1961 — January 28, 2024

Wayne Ellsworth, a cherished son, husband, stepfather, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on January 28, 2024, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, at the age of 62. Wayne was born on September 22, 1961, in Hastings, Michigan, to Frank and Mae Viola (Wilson) Ellsworth and grew up in the close-knit community of Hastings, where he attended Hastings High School.

On June 18, 1994, Wayne married Linda Newton, and together they shared nearly 25 years of marriage.  Wayne worked as a cabinet maker, retiring from JMJ Cabinetry.

An avid outdoorsman, Wayne found solace and joy in nature. He was an enthusiastic fisherman, often seen casting his line for bluegill, and a hunter who enjoyed the woods and wildlife. He also enjoyed spending time in the kitchen, where he delighted in cooking and grilling for family and friends. Wayne's enthusiasm for culinary arts extended to his enjoyment of cooking shows, which inspired many of his delicious creations.  Above all, Wayne's greatest joy was the time he spent with his family.

Wayne was the beloved son of his mother, Mae Ellsworth, who survives him. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Ellsworth, and his wife, Linda (Newton) Ellsworth. His legacy continues through his stepchildren, Elly (Rich) Chrzan and Tom Newton; his grandchildren, Sydnee and Richelle Chrzan, Domonique Colon, Tanner, and Trace Newton, and his siblings, Stan (Bobbie) Wilkins, Robert (Madelene) Ellsworth, Priscella (Doug) Reigler, and Linda (Tim) Weingartz, and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind dear friends Henry Arens, Alexis (Trenton) Courtney, and Joe Arens.
