William "Al" Albert Mcmurray

William "Al" Albert McMurray, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2025, in Hastings, Michigan.

Bill was born on January 6, 1954, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Harry and Joan (Weller) McMurray. On April 20, 1974, he married the love of his life, Susan (Dulyea) McMurray, and together they embarked on a journey of love and companionship that would span 51 years. Their union was blessed with two children, William and Shannon, who in turn gave him the joy of being a grandfather to William, Ethan, and Brayden McMurray.

Bill was an avid outdoorsman. He found solace in the tranquility of fishing, the thrill of hunting, and the simplicity of camping. His hands were rarely still, as he was always engaged in woodworking, crafting with leather, or fixing up anything that needed repair. Bill's love for the outdoors was only matched by his love for riding his bike, where he found freedom and joy in the journey.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harry McMurray, and his brother, Jerry McMurray. Bill's departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his memory will continue to inspire and comfort his family and friends.

Bill is survived by his mother; his loving wife, Susan; his son, William (Jodi) McMurray; his daughter, Shannon McMurray; his cherished grandsons; his sisters, Tammy (John) VanderVelde, Donna (John) Rose, and Susan McMurray; his brother-in-law, Claude (Von) Dulyea; his sister-in-law, Freeda (George) Phillips; his beloved dog, Buddy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
