William Arthur Carter

William Arthur Carter, age 92, of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away on November 20, 2021. William was born on July 30, 1929, in St. Clair, Michigan, the son of Willimac and Nellie Carter.

William was a 1948 graduate of St. Clair High School. He proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict from 1948 to 1952. On January 8, 1955, William married Sue Williams, and they enjoyed 67 years together until her passing earlier this year. Bill owned multiple gas stations, but then became an insurance adjuster, a career that lasted many years.

Bill enjoyed fishing at Torch River. For many years, he was a goal judge for the Saginaw Gears IHL Team and the Florida Everblades ECHL team. He also worked numerous spring training camps for the Minnesota Twins in Ft. Myers, Florida. Bill found happiness in driving anywhere right up to his last days. Bill and Sue enjoyed multiple cruises and European vacations as well as their cottage at Torch River.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Charles, Norman, sisters Dorothy and Nora, wife Sue and daughter Elizabeth and son-in-law Stephen.

He is survived by his son Steven of Mattawan, son Nick (Kathy) of Delton, granddaughter Stephanie Welch of Ft. Wayne, IN, and granddaughter Taylor Carter of Hastings.
